My Sanders Family
This photo was taken about 1940
My great grandparents are on the far right hand side.
My father is kneeling in front on the right with his brother
and his sisters are standing behind them.

I was so lucky to get this picture this summer from a distant
cousin, Charlie Bill Totten.  He has given me a lot of family
photos and stories of my Sanders family.  I have learned how
they worked hard and never lost focus on family ties.  They
knew how to work, live, laugh and love each and every member.

I will be adding more stories in the future.

My Sanders Family

My hobby is doing genealogy and finding information of my distant relatives.  I can only go back on my Sanders/Saunders side to my great great great grandparents.  That is my brick wall.  My ggg grandmother was Lucinda Saunders.  Some say she never married.  Some say she married George Saunders.  Then I was told that is not true, that she had all her children by George Tawney.  She was from Giles County VA. what is called Sinking Creek. I still search and dig for what is true!

My gr grandfather was William Clifton Saunders. My grandfather was George "Doc" Sanders.  The name got translated down the line some how. George married Mary Louis Romans from Smyth County Va. in a little place called Saltville Va.  My father, Alvin E. Sanders was one of their five children.

I was not raised by any of my family.  But I have come to know them through Charlie Bill Totten and http://www.ancestry.com/ and many other resources.  Some photos were made possible because of  Don Smith from Saltville, VA.  I have met some of my family and I have been very blessed to get to meet them and to know them.  It was all good!  God is good all the time!
